How to Use Zendesk Placeholders to Personalize Mass Emails in Proactive Campaigns

Simply open your campaign draft, add Zendesk placeholders in the subject line and/or body, and check that they’re highlighted in blue — the app confirms they’re valid and ready. Send your campaign and see how every customer gets a personalized message.

Quick tip: always include at least one placeholder in the subject line. It’s a simple way to boost open rates and grab attention right away.

The placeholders we used in the video:

  • {{ticket.requester.name}} – adds the customer’s name
  • {{ticket.id}} – inserts the ticket number
  • {{ticket.created_at}} – shows when the ticket was created
  • {{ticket.url}} – gives a direct link to the ticket
